Important
things first, are these sheets silk or cotton?
Definitely
cotton. I got rid of the last (and only) set of silk sheets I owned over twenty
years ago. They were red. They felt cool and smooth. They were sexy. They were
also a pain in the arse. Like Teflon, everything that touched them seemed to
slip to the floor. I’m afraid practicality won over romance.
It
should be noted that my pillowslip is silk though. Supposedly, the silk fabric
is great for keeping the wrinkles at bay. Here’s the link if anyone wants to

What
are you wearing?
I’m
wearing a gorgeous sheer négligée—just kidding! Like
the sheets, it’s probably been twenty years since I even owned one of those. I
slept naked up until I had kids. Once they were old enough to do the midnight
prowl, I started wearing pyjamas that usually take the form of a long T-shirt.
I’m currently wearing one that says “Coffee Now, Champagne Later” which sums up my
life. J
What
are we snacking on in bed while we read tonight?
We’ve
got the top sheet pulled up nice and high, so we don’t get food in the bed as
we snack on cheese and fruit. I’ve cut the cheddar into bit size cubes and the
brie into wedges. The cheese is accompanied by grapes, strawberries, and sliced
apple. If you’re really good, you can have a Tim Tam with a coffee later.
If
I open this nightstand drawer, what will I find?
Depends
if it’s my side of the bed or his *wink*
My
bedside table will have hand lotion, a nail file, and a spare Kindle (you can’t
have too many Kindles).
Do
you roll up in the blankets like a burrito, or kick the covers off during the
night?
I
love to snuggle up in the blankets. If you attempt to take them off me, you’ll
get banished to the couch.
Can
I put my cold feet on your calves to warm them up?
Sure.
For all of five seconds before I elbow you and shove you out of bed. J
What
are we reading?
We’re
reading sweet romance. Tonight we’ve chosen to read More Than a Friend. It’s a novella so perfectly sized for a nice
dose of m/m loving with a happy ending.
Here’s
a little taste:
Tim followed Scott down the
long hotel corridor. The patterned carpet and beige-toned walls seemed to
extend forever as they passed door after door. Tim’s nervousness grew with each
step, his chest getting tighter and tighter with each room they passed. By the
time they reached the last door, he was almost light-headed with anticipation.
Tim stopped directly behind
Scott and waited anxiously as Scott pulled the key card from the back pocket of
his jeans. Scott slid the card into the reader on the wall and the door
unlocked with a soft snick before he pushed it open. Tim stood at the
threshold, reluctant to follow Scott into the room. He knew that once he took
the next step, there would be no going back. Whatever happened from now on, it
had the potential to alter the course of his future forever.
He was either about to make
the biggest mistake of his life, or take a gamble that would pay off tenfold.
