Flash Fiction 1S: The Language of the Fan

Flash Fiction 9/11

The Language of the Fan

Jason held his cheroot to the side and blew a thin stream of blue smoke into the garden. The whiny stringed instruments from the ball couldn't hide the crunch of feet on the path.
"What are you doing out here?" He demanded hoarsely. Trenton would put his huskiness down to the smoke, or maybe the bastard would know it was emotion.
"I wasn't flirting with her."
"I know the language of the fan, My Lord. She wanted you to meet her in the gardens."
"I'm only interested in meeting you." Trenton D'Arcy swung Jason around by the arm. Jase allowed the cheroot to slip from his fingers and stamped it out. His hands landed on Trent's shoulders as the hope of the match making mamas took his mouth in a torrid kiss that left them breathless.
Quickly, he recovered his resentment and pushed Trent away, his prick a hard ache inside his white satin evening breeches. "Damn you! Why do you do this?"
"Because I love you."
He winced at the bald statement. "You should love some dainty demoiselle who can provide you with children and social grace. I can give you nothing."

Tantalizing Tuesday #7 Gettysburg

Welcome to another round of flash fiction on Tantalizing Tuesday!

Tantalizing Tuesday
June 6, 2011

Gettysburg
July 1, 1863

The Captain says all good soldiers know fear. I can't quite believe they are as closely acquainted with it as I am. Fear has been my closest companion. It shadows my every movement. I know its scent intimately...gunpowder and the coppery tint of blood. Fear shares my pallet, dodges my steps on and off the battlefield.
Every time my battalion enters the field of combat, I search the ranks of the Rebel forces, looking for his familiar form. The next shot I fire may endanger him. The next bullet whizzing past my head may be his. The thought of his death makes a coward of me. I would leave this fight today, if I could take him with me.
I cling to my spot on the ridge, not just following orders, but hoping the slight vantage will help me recognize him...God knows why. There can't be any reconciliation...not here, not now.
The best I can hope for is that we survive this terrible war and meet again in peace time. We should have consigned them all to the Devil and headed West. At least then we could have been together, and I wouldn't fear his death by my hand.

Tantalizing Tuesday # 6 - Sylvie

Welcome to a new Tantalizing Tuesday!
Here's a flash of a different sort for you....

Sylvie

Her eyes sparkle with humorous challenge; her lips spread in a teasing smile. Everyone stares at her, but my eyes fall to the tickets she tossed on the table.
People look at us, not knowing if she's serious. I can't force the words she wants through my tight throat. My palms dampen, icy sweat drips down my spine. The girls from our office laugh. They think it's a joke. Part of me does too. Sylvia is way beyond me. She's pretty, smart...courageous.
The light in her eyes dims, but her smile's wider, and I see her confidence in me is shaken. Unable to speak, I lean over the table and kiss her.
The little harpy inside who's been telling me Sylvie's just messing with me, rests control of my soul and I jerk away. My lashes drift shut and I swallow hard.
The laughter dies. The "Haha I was just fooling" never comes.
I pry reluctant lids open and meet her gaze again.
The sparkle's back. The girls are making plans for shopping...because it looks like Sylvie and I are eloping.
Minutes after I should have spoken, the words I choked on last night burst forth. "Yes. I love you."

Tantalizing Tuesday: Making Up

Flash Fiction for 5/3- Making Up

Making Up
by Lee Brazil

"You think you can do no wrong, don't you?"

Chris's scorn raked over old wounds. Good let him be angry.  Stan was sick of pretending to be friends with his ex. He'd engineered this meeting to resolve that issue.

"It's not my opinion of myself that bothers you." Stan scowled at his critic. "It's my opinion of you that riles you. Anyone would think it was your money we're talking about. You're a tightfisted miser, Chris." Money had been at the root of all their fights back then, too.

"Your boundless ego ceased to be amusing three bounced checks and an over the limit gold card ago." Chris scribbled something on a note pad.

"I don't know what you're talking about." Stan shifted forward to hide the way his dick responded to Chris's display of emotion. Too many memories of angry make up sex that melted into tender apologies battered at him. "Don't I pay you to take care of all that shit?"

"One of the bounced checks was written to me."

"So you don't work for me now?" Stan darted from his chair and dropped into Chris's lap.

"No."

"Then there's no reason I can't do this, is there?"

Tantalizing Tuesday # 4

Welcome to another Tantalizing Tuesday!
I've got a little snippet for you today- a taste only...

"Come home with me."
If the words had held any passion, Jerry would have gone. But Max's flat voice indicated he could care less what Jerry's response was. Jerry avoided looking into his eyes, afraid they would be equally expressionless.
"I can't," he mumbled dejectedly.
"Because of Kelley?" Max continued to block his access to the door.
"We're just friends."
"Then why not come with me for the night?" Max extracted a cigarette pack form his pocket.
"I said no." Anger crept into his words. Jerry shifted, casting nervous glances at his window. If Kelley saw him, he'd never hear the end of it. His room mate knew how he lusted after Max.  It was stupid to let the opportunity to be fucked by the man of his dreams slip through his fingers just because he wanted to be special.
"He waiting for you?" The cigarette pack scraped Jerry's jaw as Max pulled him close. "What will he think of this?"
Demanding lips crashed down on Jerry's and his lips parted of their own accord. Max's kiss was masterful, all encompassing...and not at all expressionless.
Max withdrew with a self-satisfied smile, and waved up at the lit window before leaving.

Tantalizing Tuesday #3

Welcome back to Tantalizing Tuesday!
Have a little bit of an issue this morning. *shakes head*
These boys. Just an FYI- picture him with longer hair...

"I've got nothing to say."
"I have," Blayne snapped sharply. "Someone has to make you see the mess you're making of your life!"
Aaron tossed his head, sending waves of hair tumbling through the rough wood slats of the park bench. He clamped his lips shut, holding in the bitter retort that trembled on his tongue. Don't feed the trolls in the park;  they'll never leave you alone.
"Who answered your phone?" Blayne continued relentlessly. "A new trick? Can't you ever sleep alone?"
The unjust accusations struck especially hard since he'd spent the last three months very much alone. Fury and inexplicable pain roared to life. "Fuck you, Blayne. We spent one night together. Great sex does not entitle you to pass judgment. Think what you like; I am not a slut."
"Oh? So that wasn't you I picked up in that bar?" Blayne's lips twisted.
"I'm off." Aaron swung his feet off the bench and sat upright. He winced as the splintered wood pulled at his hair. He didn't give a damn about the physical pain though. "I wasn't alone in that bar looking to get laid. If that makes me a slut, then what does it make you?"

Tantalizing Tuesday #2 - My Unexpected Guest

Welcome readers to another Flash Fiction event!
Tantalizing Tuesdays has a 200 word limit, and writers select their own photos.

Here's my inspiration photo....*sighs*

My Unexpected Guest

"I'm not some too stupid to live heroine in a bloody horror movie!" He railed, glaring. Crystal tears trickled down his pale cheeks in defiance of his words.
I smiled. A pointed lingering visual journey from his high heeled leather boots, the delightfully tight denim jeans, the glitter of a ring at his bared navel, the too short, too tight shirt, brought me back to his beautiful face. His cheeks were bright red with emotion, and I let the mockery fade from my glance. He pleased me.
"Of course you aren't, my love. I would never have caught you if it weren't for my vast experience in these woods."
The hapless youth seated at my feet didn't seem any less alarmed.  The intensity of his gaze on my mouth charmed me. Oh yes..."The teeth." I sighed.
"What are you?" His breathy whisper sent shivers of awareness straight to my soul. His being spoke to me, and he didn't even know.
"I am time stopped, death gone astray." He stared, uncomprehending. "I am pain...and ecstasy." Leaning forward, I flicked his plump, soft lip with my tongue. "I am yours, for the length of your existence in this world...and then... you are mine."

Teaser EXCERPT:

Images of the last few hours flicked rapidly through his mind. He'd enjoyed himself. Every bit of the evening, from playing chess with Johnny to watching Mason orgasm in the front seat of the car, had been incredible. "Mason, I just can't. I can't tell you how bad it would be for me if my parents found out about this."

As he pulled the Jetta into the parking space next to Mark's BMW, Mason spoke again. "I swear, they won't find out. Honestly, Mark, I think this could really be something special between us. Give me a second chance?"

It was the temptation of that husky voice calling his name during orgasm, the sensual mastery of the kiss Mason pressed upon him, that caused him to agree. His capitulation was most emphatically not due to any emotional need to be with Mason.
"No more sex in public places?"

"No more public sex," Mason assented readily.

Mark regretted Mason's agreement as much as he regretted making the demand.

Tantalizing Tuesday #1: No Way Out

Another Flash Fiction Group- this one less structured- instead of ten takes on one picture, everyone chooses their own picture and then writes 250 words.

This is my first pic

No Way Out
Clang. Whirrr. Clang.

Yul took stock of his prison. The small windowless room had no other exit than the one so dramatically locked behind him. It resembled a remodeled bank vault. A thin air mattress with white sheets lodged against one wall.

Bare walls, bare floor. Nothing he could use to escape. He was here until he complied with their wishes.

Yul stretched across the mattress, relaxing as he lit a cigarette. Would setting the mattress and sheets on fire gain him anything? There was no alternative. He picked up the knife, tested the blade with his thumb. It was sharp, he kept it that way.

Cigarettes and his pocket knife wouldn't get him out of this alive. He could cut up the sheets, then what? Strangle himself?

He didn't want to die.

He'd have to "donate" the blood they wanted and hope like hell the foul things kept their word and released him before they realized that he was no more a fucking virgin than he was president. "Pint of virgin blood freely given." He muttered drawing the blade along the fine lines of his palm and up his forearm. Slice open a vein and measure out a pint.

Snorting, he dragged the blade down and tapped the button of his fly, traced the waistband of his jeans. Idiot asked the wrong question.

"Have you ever fucked a woman?"

"No, never." It was the one damn thing he'd never done. He'd fucked plenty of men, been fucked by more.
