Rain Got You Down? #free #mmromance #PulpFRiction

I'm terribly affected by bad weather, so I'll be fighting the urge to hole up while the skies are cloudy. I thought it was a good day to stay in bed and read.

How about you?

Meet Chance:

"I'm Chance, this is my place. You want me; this is where you can find me."

The problem with that, of course, was that it wasn't my name. My name was actually Aaron Dumont.

I picked up the name Chance as a kid when my grandma kept telling me "Chances are you'll come to no good, just like your pa." She had said it so often, it just kind of stuck. I've been Chance ever since. When she passed away and left me the remains of her estate, I sold everything but a few special items then invested it all in a nest egg for a rainy day.

I figured that's what she'd intended it for anyway. She'd said as soon as I joined the police force back in the eighties. "Chances are you'll come to no good there. It's a dangerous job and you're an accident waiting to happen."
She was right too.

FYI: This is book 1 of Pulp Friction 2015- part of an intricate web of interconnected stories by four authors that just might prove addictive.

Positivity Challenge! #goodthingsallaround

Positivity Challenge

Day 4 of 5. Havan Fellowstagged me to list 3 positive things for 5 days and challenge 3 people each day to take the Positivity Challenge.

1. Sunshine - When the sun rises each morning, and I can sit here and watch it peeking over the treeline, I know that whatever happened yesterday is gone, and today will bring its own challenges and joys. And tomorrow, the slate will be wiped clean and today won't matter, either. It's hard to be morose about the state of things, when a billion year old gas ball still has the oomph to get up and light the world every day, isn't it?

2. I Can Haz Cheezburger- Because laughter goes a long, long, way. And its good to see I'm not the only crazy one.

3. Texts From Dog -  Because. Go on. CLick on over, you'll see.

I challenge anyone out there who needs a little sunshine in their lives to the 5 day Positivity Challenge. Make sure you tag your challenger with each post!

Book Tour: Laura Harner & Prevailing Winds & Giveaway #mmromance #series #giveaway

PREVAILING WINDS

Cover Artist: Laura Harner
Publisher: Hot Corner Press
Blurb(s): Two years ago, Jamie Mainwaring and Remy Remington had nothing in common except missing boys and a blazing hot mutual distraction. When the case was over, so were they. Although they went their separate ways, life—and death—keep the men connected.
After another deadly tragedy touches both their lives, the men say what they believe must be their final goodbyes—only to have their worlds collide once again. This time they end up in Las Vegas, one man for work, the other to try to mend a very personal pain.
Although Jamie and Remy once excelled at mixing business with pleasure—this time, the stakes are much higher—they’ve got forever on the line. When they discover Jamie’s case has an unexpected connection to Remy’s son, they must put everything aside to find Toby before the young man makes a decision that will change all of their lives. One thing is positive, time is running out.

Excerpt:
“I don’t know if I can do this, cowboy,” Jamie whispered. Even while his heart was busy trying to put on the brakes, his traitorous hands slid to Remy’s waist. He leaned up to steal another kiss. The slide of slick tongue, the wet heat, familiar taste all insistently telegraphed the same message. This is right.
Jamie arched toward Remy, tugging at his shirt, sliding hands along the hot flesh, pulling him closer. Returning the kiss, Remy made a noise halfway between a groan and a growl, then took a commanding control, forcing his head back, their tongues dancing in an addicting blend of white-hot urgency.
Just like the first time they’d kissed, the effect of Remington’s kiss was like no other. It wasn’t just a kiss, it was an assault on his senses that left his head spinning and his lungs desperate for oxygen. Even his toes tingled. Intense. Passionate. Perfect. They fit together in a way he’d never been able to duplicate with any other man. Yin and Yang. Black and Tan. Fish and Chips. Breaking their kiss, Jamie nearly snorted with laughter.
Immediately, Remy dropped his hands to his sides and took a giant step backward. “I’m sorry, Jamie. I didn’t mean to—” His eyes were heavy, the lush lips swollen from their kisses, the dress shirt untucked and rumpled. Jamie wanted to finish undressing him, to use his mouth to ravish that beautiful body.
Trying to focus, Jamie said, “No—it’s not that. I was thinking—”
“Always dangerous with you,” Remy interrupted.
Jamie laughed again. “Too true. I was thinking about how perfectly our kisses seem to fit together. The things you do to me are like no one else…then I lost the thread.” He repeated his thoughts.
“Like fish and chips? Seriously?” Now Remy was laughing, too. “How do I go from being your best kiss to being compared to a piece of cod?”
Jamie shook his head. “I don’t know. Nerves, maybe?”
Remy nodded. “I’ll go back to my room.”
“No,” Jamie practically shouted. Remy tilted his head and blinked. The man probably thought him mad. Maybe he was.
“Jamie, help me out here. What can’t you do? How can I help?” Remy took Jamie’s hand and started to lead him toward the couch. Jamie tugged him to the bedroom instead.
“I don’t want you to leave, Remy. Really, I don’t. Let’s go to bed.”
“Jamie, you don’t have to do this. In fact—shit, I can’t believe I’m saying this—but I’d rather we not do anything if you’re not sure.”
“That’s just the trouble, Remy. I’m sure I want this.” He used two fingers to point back and forth between them. “What I’m afraid of is what happens afterward. I’m not sure I can…survive watching you walk away again. And God, I’m so sorry. I know it’s way too soon for both of us—too soon after Miggy—too soon for this to be something you can commit to. That’s what scares me.”
Remy pulled Jamie so they both sat on the edge of the bed. Their hips touched, but Remy leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees, the position he always assumed when he needed a bit of self-protection. “I get that. I’m scared, too, you know. It nearly killed me to watch you walk away in Phoenix. And you’re right, it’s too early to search out Elvis and put on wedding bands. But Jamie, I don’t think it’s too soon to say we can try.”
Jamie’s stomach twisted, and his heart thudded erratically. Remy turned his head, and gave him a half smile. “Miggy…his death was ugly, beyond senseless. It was a fucking bomb, set two years ago by that asshole Cortez. And we never knew. We all went about living our lives—never once considering we were running out of time. All of us, Jamie—not just Migs. But here’s the thing…I don’t regret the journey, even if I hate the ending. But I have to wonder, what other time bombs are waiting for us? What regrets would we have if one of us died tomorrow?”
The words released the binds around his heart. As if someone opened the starting gate, Jamie surged forward, knocking Remy back onto the bed with an oomph. Like the crazed man he was beginning to suspect he was, he fumbled until he managed to get Remy’s shirt and slacks open. He was making splendid progress until he was distracted by the warmth of the big hands that slipped under his shirt and the roll of Remy’s hips. Even through their remaining clothes, hard length pressed against hard length.
“Jamie,” Remy said his name like some sort of incantation, weaving a spell with his voice. Jamie cried out when he was flipped over, his back landing on the mattress with a thud, and he was pinned by the weight of Remy’s body. His mouth was plundered as Remy tasted and pulled back before tasting again. So much like their first time.
Breaking their kiss, Remy rose to his knees and tugged his shirt over his head, then stood and gave Jamie a long look. Jamie remembered the taste of those finely pebbled brown nubs, the scrape of the coarse brown chest hair, the heat of the golden skin. Still Remy waited, thumbs hooked inside his waistband, the zipper unfastened, more than a hint of cock showing, since he’d obviously gone commando. Jamie licked his lips and glanced up to meet Remy’s heavy look. Only then did Remy finally let his slacks drop to the floor. Jamie unfastened his own pants, but Remy pushed his hands aside and finished undressing him, adding his clothes to the growing pile. Then they were pressed naked together and Remy’s mouth found his once more.
“Say my name,” he demanded.
Jamie smiled. “Remy,” he mumbled against the warm lips that branded him as claimed. “Remy. Remy.”

“Fuck, Jamie. I love the way you say my name,” Remy whispered.

Positivity Challenge Day #3 #allgoodthings #positivity

Good morning all! I have my coffee here, and I'm going to start the day off right with my positivity challenge.

Day 3 of 5. Havan Fellows tagged me to list 3 positive things for 5 days and challenge 3 people each day to take the Positivity Challenge. So here goes...

1. Bread is readily available on grocery store shelves, and I do not have to get up every morning, pummel a bowl of dough into submission and bake a loaf for the day. I can just open a bag and grab a few slices for my toast.

2. Toast is a wonderful meal, though maybe a BIT unhealthy, its golden, crumby, butter soaked temptation is a treat I couldn't do without.

3. Living in the country, there are a multitude of wonderful farmers markets and road side stands to provide for our produce needs. Today, I have three dozen ears of corn to process for freezing, which means I get to experience the bounty of summer in the depths of winter.

Today, I'm going to challenge Em Woods, Jade F. Baiser & Leona Bushman. Have fun!

Positivity Challenge Day #2 #goodthingsallaround #positive energy

Positivity Challenge

Day 2 of 5. Havan Fellows 3 positive things for 5 days and challenge 3 people each day to take the Positivity Challenge. So here goes...Day two

1. Adverbs - Because without them, I couldn't tell you how very much I appreciate all of you who've read my books over the years. Tremendously. That's how much.

2. Semi-colons - Because sometimes my mind trips along so fast, that I don't have time to type (, and) before I loose my train of thought.

3. Editors- Who have the good sense to help me weed the above out of my writing, so that the stories shine a little brighter than when I typed The End.

I challenge Christy Thomas, Gayl Taylor, and Patricia Farington to the 5 day Positivity Challenge. Make sure you tag your challenger with each post!

Positivity Challenge! #goodthingsallaround

Positivity Challenge

Day 1 of 5: Havan Fellows has challenged me to post 3 positive things a day for 5 days. (Before I finished my first cup of coffee, even!)

List 3 positive things for 5 days and challenge 3 people each day to take the Positivity Challenge. So here goes...

1. When I wake up, there is coffee, and for coffee I will always be grateful. Coffee has been bringing people closer together for centuries. *pours another cup*

2. In the evening, there is tequila. Tequila is miracle water. Some even say it makes your clothes fall off. Me? I like it because it blends so well with fruity juices and makes deliciously frosty beverages known as Margaritas.

3. And last but not least- neither of these would be worth as much if I didn't have you all to share them with. Friends near and far, I'm grateful for you all, for the support, the encouragement, the laughter, the tears, for everything.

I challenge Jean Joachim, Will Parkinson and Dawn Roberto to the 5 day Positivity Challenge. Make sure you tag your challenger with each post!

Crawl in Bed With Mick from Blown Hard

Crawling Into Bed With Mick
And a Good Book Blown Hard

Important things first, are these sheets silk or cotton?
I sniffed them earlier and they seem clean, isn't that enough?

*blinks* Um… well, I guess. *eyes bed askance* Now, I’m kind of wondering though…What are you wearing?
What're you wearing? Nah, kidding, kinda...this is my bed so welcome to my buck-assed nakedness. So really, what are you wearing?

*shields eyes* Why don't you…um … cover that thing up? Me? I'm wearing levis and a t-shirt. What are we snacking on in bed while we read tonight?
Beef jerky. Yeah, don't ask, I know it wears out your jaw chewing the shit but there's this guy and...well, it grows on ya. Not to mention the sore jaw reminds me of other fun things to snack on.

I'll er…pass. I brought tequila and it doesn't go well with beef. If I open this nightstand drawer, what will I find?
Look for the bare necessities. We are in the jungle...well woods—hell they look the same when you're running through them all the time, you know what I mean. Oh, you're being serious? Damn lighten up a bit...lube, condoms, toys that take and don't take batteries—depends on the mood, right?

Oh you're bold all right. Most people get a little coy about the contents of their drawers. Do you roll up in the blankets like a burrito, or kick the covers off during the night?
Depends on how much sweating goes on before the snoring starts. Not that I snore—hell I don't even know if I do, I'm asleep when it happens. I might...not like Sugartree and I have ever or will ever get to that point (god I hope we do) but...yeah. Hey, if you wanna stay the night you can tell me in the morning...but just be careful, Sugartree seems to know all the comings and goings around here and is damn good with a bow and arrow...just saying I think he's a little sweet on me whether he likes it or not.

*whispers* Sugartree? *eye crazy man* Can I put my cold feet on your calves to warm them up?
The warmest place on my body is behind my balls and up the crack of my ass...you sure you wanna settle for my calves?

Well, I've never actually been invited to shove my foot up someone's ass before. Threatened to, but not invited to. What are we reading?

Well, there're some awesome readers who decided Havan didn't tell enough of my history in her first two Pulp Friction Whispering Winds books...so here's book three and all you'll never want to know about little ol' me—Blown Hard.

Oh, and by the way Lee, I just want to add a side note before we get to the heart of this little chat. I loved your instructions about including all the pertinent information...but I seriously love the fact that you don't think length is an issue. Nice to know you're not a size queen.

*snort* Right. Get on with the reading.

So let's continue shall we? Come on, get comfy...take your clothes off and put your cold feet where you think they'll warm up best...ahhhh, yeah, that's nice. I'm a good host, aren't I?

*eyeroll* Don't be giving these people the wrong idea. I'm still dressed, and my feet are on the ground. It's going to take a little more than a silver tongue to get me compliant. Start reading.

Blown Hard
Blurb:
Today's the day, Rowen and Mick finally have their date. At least that’s Mick's plan, but plans are meant to be broken.

What could possibly go wrong when Rowen and Mick get together to enjoy that dinner Mick's been pushing—shoving, threatening, begging—for? Well, Mick could try to make small talk—that’s never good.

Miscommunication between the two leads to a very different outcome than expected. But that’s nothing compared to what happens once danger blows in from the west. The winds of change hit with all the gentleness of a cyclone. A disastrous dinner date, midnight marauders, enigmas exposed.

When the winds die down, who will be left standing?

Excerpt:
Mick bolted upright in his bed. Something was wrong. What the fuck woke him up?

There it was again, a scraping sound over by the window. No, that wasn't right…not by the window, outside the window.

Rowen?

Even before his bare feet hit the wooden floorboards, Mick knew it wasn't Rowen. The man couldn't even enter his cabin when invited through the front door. He damn sure wasn't going to try and break in after avoiding Mick all night since their encounter yesterday afternoon.

Knowing it wasn't Rowen slowed his roll a little. If not his lover trying to bust into his bedroom, then who the hell was it?

He couldn't see out the window thanks to the heavy drapes he hung immediately after he leased the place for a year. That worked both for him and against him. Sure, the intruders couldn't survey the room and react to Mick's movements, but Mick couldn't look out at them either.

Oh shit, what if it really was a them…as in more than one?

Mick's eyes widened as the realization of the situation slammed into him. Instantly he knew, had no doubt in his mind, who was trying to break into his house.

And he needed to get the hell out before they got in.

He grabbed a pair of faded jeans off the floor and sniffed them. In the process of making sure they didn't stink, he shook his head. Now was not the time to worry about personal hygiene. He slammed his legs in them and carefully zipped the jeans up, his head already whipping around looking for a shirt. His long-sleeved black tee lay strewn next to the bureau's legs, and he dipped down quickly to snatch it up. His eyes landed on his reflection in the mirror on top of the piece of furniture and he froze like a deer in the headlights.

This was it, what he'd feared in the back of his head for the four months he'd been here.

Arturo's goons had found him.

Crawling Into Bed With Rebecca Cohen

Crawling Into Bed Rebecca Cohen And a Good Book

Important things first, are these sheets silk or cotton?
Cotton…cool against the skin and prevent things sliding around.

What are you wearing?
Super-soft pajamas, in a midnight blue.

What are we snacking on in bed while we read tonight?
Finest Swiss chocolate – a selection of Sprüngli’s best pralines, and we’re sipping a very fine Dôle des Valais pinot noir. Cheers!

If I open this nightstand drawer, what will I find?
Alas now my son is a toddler, the only toys in easily accessible drawers are those of cuddly or chewable nature. A square plastic penguin or an abandoned teddy are lying in wait.

Do you roll up in the blankets like a burrito, or kick the covers off during the night?
I like to snuggle down under the blankets, but prefer to have my feet out of the bed, even if it’s cold.

Can I put my cold feet on your calves to warm them up?
Feel free… as long as I can reciprocate. Always good to share body heat.

What are we reading?

Forever Hold His Peace, Book Three of the Crofton Chronicles. The final installment of my historical series set in Elizabethan England.

In this excerpt Anthony (the Earl of Crofton) has some explaining to do to Sebastian (an actor playing the role of his twin sister, Bronwyn, Lady Crofton) about a certain guest at Crofton Hall. Anthony hasn’t exactly been open with his past dealing with Lady Florin….

“Do I hear my name being taken in vain?” Anthony joined them, a goblet of wine in hand.
“No more than usual, Crofton,” said Lord Ashton. “Wives are prone to make their husbands the devil.”
“Some wives do not need much help in doing so.” Sebastian glanced at Anthony, who looked a little surprised at what Sebastian had said.
“Then let this devil lead you to dinner, my lady.”
Sebastian let Anthony lead him and the rest of his guests to the dining table. Lady Florin was a few seats away, and she was engrossed in conversation with Roland Parson, the local sheriff, and a man who was the son of a local noble. Sebastian made no move to sit anywhere other than next to Anthony, which caused another troubled look.
Anthony leaned in and asked quietly, “What is wrong?”
“Why should there be anything wrong?” he whispered back, taking a sip of wine to cover his words.
“My lady?”
“I understand I have been misled about the true nature of the seriousness of my husband’s dalliance with a particular guest.”
Anthony knocked back the remainder of his wine with one swallow. “I would say that you have been misinformed. Although, given the way you would act in the face of such a revelation, it would hardly be surprising if your husband chose to not mention any imaginary association.”
Sebastian scowled at Anthony, and if they weren’t surrounded by guests, he’d have thrown his wine over him. “If I be waspish, best beware my sting.”
Anthony’s eye sparkled with amusement. “I know I’m in trouble when you quote Shakespeare at me, but remember, Thou and I are too wise to woo peaceably.”

Crawl in Bed with SJ Thomas #mmromance #crawlinbed

Crawling Into Bed With SJ THOMAS
And a Good Book

Important things first, are these sheets silk or cotton?
Well, I'd love to say silk, but in reality they would be cotton.

What are you wearing?
Hmm, I wish I was draped in some clingy sheer negligee that hugs my curves in all the right places, but my favorite pair of Disney pj's are much more likely.

What are we snacking on in bed while we read tonight?
Peanut butter M&M's

If I open this nightstand drawer, what will I find?
Spare inhalers, assorted hairbands, nail files and make up, and stashed at the back paperback copy's of Anne Rice's Sleeping Beauty trilogy!

Do you roll up in the blankets like a burrito, or kick the covers off during the night?
Definitely roll up, as I feel the cold and I have to hug a pillow to be comfortable.

Can I put my cold feet on your calves to warm them up?
Well, only if I can put mine on yours too as I always have cold feet! We'll have to take turns.

What are we reading?

My Business, Your Pleasure, which is my first paranormal MM published as part of Evernight's Romance on the Go line.
If you cast your mind back you very kindly beta read an earlier version for me. The version we are reading tonight is slightly different as the original was aimed at another line.
I have had some really lovely reviews for this one and I just love my two smoking hot heroes, especially my deliciously wicked sex demon Elliot.
Blurb:
Justin has one rule: never get involved with immortals. It's bad for business and dangerous. Trouble is his business partner Elliot—an immortal being with undeniable sex appeal—makes him want to break that rule.
Hoping a night with an immortal will get this infatuation out of his system, Justin visits a rival club looking for a one-night stand. Elliot has wanted Justin for ages, but despite his best efforts has gotten nowhere. So when he learns about Justin's plans, he turns up at the club, hoping one night will turn into many more.
Will Justin let down his guard and let Elliot become his partner in more than just business?
Excerpt
"Looks like you've got this all planned out."
Elliot ignored the bitter accusation in Justin's voice, shrugging out of his jacket before he closed the curtains. When Elliot faced him, Justin stood with his arms crossed over his chest, his tousled dark blond hair falling across his brow, his usually calm, almost delicate features brimming with anger. Elliot suddenly found his courage failing him.
When he didn't speak, Justin narrowed his eyes. "Well? You wanted to talk, so talk. How did you find out about this tonight?"
As he looked at the man he wanted, Elliot knew he needed to be honest with him. "Kara helped me."
"Kara."
"Yeah, she figured out your plans and clued me in."
"She what? I can't believe this. She is so fired." Justin paced back and forth for a few seconds, and then stopped, his head jerking toward Elliot. "How did she know what I was up to?
"Kara's smart and she knows you too well. Plus she worries about you. She thinks you work to hard and worries that you're lonely."
Justin's brow furrowed as he shook his head. "But why did she tell you?"
"She's a good friend, and she knows how I feel about you."
A sharp intake of air was Justin's only reaction, and Elliot forced himself to carry on. "I've wanted you for ages, Justin, but I knew you'd never go out with me. Your damn rules about not getting involved with immortals would stop you. She thought if I got you away from work, then you might admit your feelings for me. If I could get you to see me as something other than your business partner." He gestured down at himself.
Justin followed the movement, his gaze sweeping over Elliot. His full lips parted, eyes darkening with obvious lust and Elliot's cock swelled in reaction, body growing hard with desire. His tongue darted out to wet his lips, and Elliot stifled a groan.
Justin spoke in a husky voice. "I'd have never thought you could pull that look off."
Elliot shrugged. "I've had many different looks in my life." He offered a cocky smiled. "And I've rocked them all."
Justin's mouth twitched and hope flared within Elliot, until Justin shook his head. "This," Justin gestured to the champagne, "and you," he nodded toward Elliot, "doesn't change anything. Why would you think it would?"
"I know you are attracted to me, but you've never acted on it. I tried so many times to take our relationship further, but you always shut me down."
Justin's brow furrowed, his expression turning pained. "You know why I have my rules. The club runs better if we don't get involved with the clients—"
"I'm not a client." Elliot's voice was harsh in the snug confines of the booth.
"No, but you are an immortal. How can I tell our staff to keep their distance if I can't myself?"
"So, what is this all about then?" Elliot tilted his head toward the club. "You came here for a one-night stand with an immortal, a stranger. Is that keeping your distance?" Anger and frustration flowed through Elliot. The thought of Justin fucking some random immortal who'd do God knows what to him, filled Elliot with rage. Vampires bit, werewolves clawed, and some breeds of demons tasted their lover's souls. Image after image of immortal creatures hurting Justin flitted through Elliot's mind.
"I was doing it to get over you!" Justin shouted, and that nasty little creature called hope once again flared inside Elliot.
"You do want me then." Elliot spoke it as a statement, not a question.
Justin ran his fingers through his hair. "Maybe I do, but I'll never act on it. I am not going to risk our relationship for one night of sex. And I couldn't face myself if I was such a hypocrite." Justin shook his head. "This isn't what I wanted tonight."
Despair and frustration fueled Elliot's next words. "No, I know what you wanted. A night of make-believe with some random guy. Well, get this straight, if you aren't going to be with me then you're not going to be with anyone else, mortal or immortal. I'm not letting any other creature get his hands on you."
Justin's lips parted, his eyes going wide. "Tell me you didn't just say that?"
Elliot didn't answer. He just lifted his chin and set his lips in a stubborn line.
Justin laughed bitterly. "You immortals, thinking you own the world. This is exactly why I don't want to get involved with your kind. I see the possessiveness, the control you want over your lovers." He stomped over, getting right up in Elliot's face, sexy as hell in his anger. "No man, mortal or immortal, owns me. No man will control me, got that?"
He'd never seen Justin so angry, so forceful. All Elliot wanted to do was take Justin in his arms and crush their lips together. "You're sexy when you're angry, you know that?"
Justin's lips parted and he gave a sharp exhale. "You are unbelievable. And I am not going to do this."
He went to step away, but Elliot gripped his arm, stopping him. The look Justin gave his hand would have sent an enraged demon running, but Elliot refused to be frightened off that easily. "Justin, please. Don't walk away from this. You have no idea how good this could be."
Justin’s gaze flicked up to Elliot's face, and for the briefest second Elliot saw indecision in those hazel depths. Then Justin's jaw tightened, and with a methodical movement he took Elliot's hand and forced it away from his arm. "I can't do this with you." Justin's voice was strained, full of anguish, and as he yanked aside the curtains and walked away, pain speared through Elliot's chest.
Elliot let out a ragged breath, his gaze tracking Justin as he weaved his way across the dance floor. Shit, that couldn't have gone any worse. He stood for a moment, unsure whether to follow or just let Justin go.
No. This might be his only chance to have Justin, and even if all he got was a single night, Elliot wanted it too much to give up without a fight. Elliot squared his shoulders and stalked across the dance floor.
