Best Chance
More Than Friends # 6
Release Date: February 28, 2015
Author Name: Aria Grace

Publisher: Surrendered Press
Cover Artist: Kris Kendall

Blurb: Vinnie is happy as a bartender at Ray's and not looking for anything serious to complicate his life. He has great friends and a simple life. When Chance comes into his bar, he brings more than just memories of the summer they spent together in high school. The widower has a fifteen month old son that could change everything for Vinnie, if he’s willing to take the chance.

Excerpt:

“It’s not exactly the penthouse, but it’s home.” I reach back for Chance’s wrist and tug him in behind me.
“I didn’t come here for the amenities,” he says, resting his hand on my hip and squeezing.
“No?” I turn so his arm is wrapped around my waist. “What did you come for?”
My face is inches from his. His warm breath washes over me as I stare into those desperate eyes.
“This.” Chance’s eyes drop to my mouth as his head tilts and he leans into me. As soon as his full lips close over mine, I want to sing. I instinctively open my mouth to accept his tongue as it lightly brushes over mine. We aren’t tentative kids anymore. We’ve both had time to perfect our techniques over the years so by the time I drag Chance into my room, I’ve touched every space in his mouth that I can reach.
Our hands aren’t left idle as we tug on clothes and pull down zippers until we’re both naked and panting on my bed.
“God, I’ve missed you, Vin,” Chance says against my chest as he drops kisses on my skin.

Cover Artist: Paul Richmond

In April 1975, as the government in Saigon is falling, Michael Andrews prepares to make his way back to Vietnam to find the love he was forced to leave.

But Michael’s journey begins four years earlier. He joins the Air Force to keep out of the Army and out of Vietnam, but his first assignment is teaching English in Saigon to members of the Vietnamese military in an Army program called Palace Dog.

As an artist, and a man, before his time in Vietnam, Michael found life lonely and unsatisfying. In the midst of war, Michael searches for direction and meaning. He ultimately finds love and hope with Thao, a young Vietnamese art student, only to have their already uncertain future wrenched from them when he is pulled out of the country.

For Michael, his return in 1975 is inevitable and without question, though the outcome he hopes for is anything but assured.

Excerpt:
The cyclo had bumped across the bridge, following the curve in the road, then moved quickly down the final straight stretch, past houses and shops, past rows of trees and walls and occasional open spaces, past vendors who lined the street’s edge selling gasoline in glass bottles. Motorcycles, Lambretta mini-buses packed with people, cream-and-blue Renault taxis, pedestrians with baskets and boxes—all crowded the street. Noises, smells, and smoke came from everywhere, and as the driver increased his speed, I smiled, gripping the metal frame tighter and pushing slightly with my feet as the moist wind rushed around me.

Speeding through the streets of Saigon, wearing the green Air Force-issued jungle fatigues, my life of a year ago seemed unreal.

He has lived in both Vietnam (twice, actually) and Saudi Arabia, and also spent time in Egypt, South Korea, Shanghai (his only China visit thus far), and Dubai. Now he is happy to call San Francisco home.

The Thief
Marine Bodyguards #2

Release Date: February 28, 2015

Crawling Into Bed with Patricia Logan

And a Good Book

Important things first, are these sheets silk or cotton? I am partial to silk sheets so thank you for indulging me, Lee. *squirms*

*blushes* What are you wearing? *blinks and pulls the sheet up under her chin, eyeballing the hottie* Um…

*headdesk* Why do people keep thinking this is a clothing optional activity? What are we snacking on in bed while we read tonight? Strawberry Twizzlers and Los Lobos Doritos tacos with extra sour cream and plenty of Fire sauce J

Um... I'll have the Twizzlers. Those chips sound lethal. If I open this nightstand drawer, what will I find? *slaps Lee’s hand then smiles* Nothing. *whistles*

*eye roll* Yeah, because our readers ahve never seen those before. Do you roll up in the blankets like a burrito, or kick the covers off during the night? Neither. I sleep with the sheet and the blanket within reach. I do live in Southern California, after all. I am a very clean sleeper. When I get up in the morning, I literally pull up my sheet and blanket and fluff my pillow. Then, I put on my environmental protection gear and make my husband’s side of the bed. It usually looks like a bomb went off. lol

Can I put my cold feet on your calves to warm them up? FRESH! *smiles shyly* Sure, big boy.

What are we reading? “The Thief” Book 2 of my Marine Bodyguards series.

Author Name: Patricia Logan
Publisher: Westburg Publishing
Cover Artist: Jeff Adkins
Blurb(s): Former Marine and bona fide hero, Ranger Corrigan, is one paycheck away from joining his brethren among the ranks of Los Angeles’s homeless Veterans. When he is offered a great paying job in a palatial mansion, Ranger jumps at the chance for a roof over his head and a hot meal in his belly.
Handsome and cultured Landry Metzel lives too well to be the insurance appraiser he claims to be, and Ranger can’t help but want to know why he’s been hired to protect an innocuous man with no enemies. Metzel certainly won’t be sorry to see him go.
As famous masterpieces suddenly begin disappearing from private collections, Ranger begins putting two and two together. When an LAPD detective starts asking questions about murders tied to the thefts, Ranger suddenly wants to learn more about the man he’s hopelessly attracted to.
A wisecracking former Marine, a man with a desperate secret to hide, and a murderous villain come together in a tale of murder, danger, intrigue, and the crime of the century.

“Well, you look no worse for the wear, Landry,” he said as Landry walked over and slipped his arms under the leather jacket and around Ranger’s back, looking up into his handsome face. His brown eyes were twinkling with humor as he reached around and hugged Landry, leaning down to kiss him. As Ranger plied his lips, Landry sighed, realizing that he’d never expected to meet a man like his big bodyguard who’d walked into his life and taken over everything in it including finding his way into his heart in such a short time. When they separated from the kiss, Landry stared up at him.
“What did you think? I’d come walking out of the bathroom bowlegged?” Landry remarked with a smile.
Ranger grinned and then leaned down, pecking his lips again. “You could have the good grace to at least walk like John Wayne for a few minutes to remind me that I’ve just been deep inside you.”
What an understatement! Ranger’s not only hot as hell but hung like Wayne’s horse. “Mm, say that again,” Landry said, reaching up and circling Ranger’s neck and tugging at his head to pull him down for another kiss.
Ranger complied, kissing him slowly and softly before pulling away and staring down at him. He smiled again. “Deep inside you?”
“Deep… DEEP inside me,” Landry said with a chuckle.
“Why is the door locked?” Suddenly the doorknob to Landry’s room rattled. Fear lanced through Landry as he realized Belzer was right outside the room. His gaze flew to Ranger and the look on his bodyguard’s face was filled with the very same emotion. How an eighty-five year old man could strike fear in the hearts of two grown men a third their age, Landry would never know.
“Jesus!” Landry whispered. “That’s Belzer! Hide.”
“Hide?” Ranger said. He and Landry broke apart and Ranger looked frantically side to side. “Where?”
“Jesus! Keep your voice down,” Landry hissed. He began bouncing on the balls of his feet, not knowing what the hell to do with a six and a half foot tall bodyguard who had no business being in his bedroom with the door locked. “Hide! Hide! Hide!” he waved his hands frantically in all directions. He finally decided on the bathroom. “There! There!” he pointed.
Ranger darted toward the bathroom and Landry reacted in fear as Belzer called out, “Master Landry? Why is the door locked? Are you in there, Master Landry?” He pounded on the door and Landry froze in fear as he saw Ranger in an all out flight for the bathroom.
“Not in the bathroom!” he whispered loudly, running after Ranger. He grabbed his bicep as Ranger swung around and stared down at him.
“What? You said the bathroom.” His eyes were wide also.
“Belzer is always checking the bathroom. For all I know he could have clean towels,” Landry hissed, leaning close to Ranger. “God knows, I tell the man not to do the laundry!” He was freaking out but all he knew was there was no way he wanted Belzer to find out he was gay by being caught in the buff with his handsome bodyguard in the room.
“Christ. Where then?” Ranger asked, frantically holding onto Landry’s hands with a grip of steel.
Landry’s eyes darted all around the room. “The closet! The closet!” he hissed.
Ranger darted toward the closet.
“Not in the closet!” he whispered loudly, frantically running after Ranger to stop him. “Belzer may have something to hang in there!”
Ranger stopped in his tracks and spun around, glaring at Landry. “Maybe if I stand here still as a statue, and turn sideways he won’t see me,” he growled.
“Now is no time to play games, Ranger!” Landry hissed.
“Yeah? Cause hop-fuckin’-scotch comes to mind!” Ranger sniped.
“Master Landry! Are you in there?” The old geezer pounded on the door again.
“Here, Belzer!” Landry called out as he frantically ran in circles around the room. “I’ll be there in a second!” he yelled. He ran over to Ranger and grabbed his arm, lowering his voice to a loud whisper. “Do something!”

“Well, I could curl into a tiny speck of dust but he’d probably have a broom and a pan with him and when he finished with me, you’d never hear from me again!”

Hitting the Road with Val and Adrian: Tour & Giveaway Info #pridepromotions #bookblast #mmromance

The Librarian is on Tour with Pride Promotions
Feb. 24th 2015

A rash vow of celibacy puts Valentine Michaels in the path of seduction.

Val is at a crossroads in his life. A college dropout, he's gone as far as he can in his career as a cosmetologist, owning his own style salon. He no longer finds satisfaction in it, though he's put years into proving to his bigoted parents that a college degree and the veneer of straightness aren't the only roads to success. They'd turned their backs on him, and he proved he didn't need them to make it.

His love life is no better than his working life. His relationships always start with a bang and fizzle into boredom, or worse, anger.

Adrian Grey has his own agenda for helping Val: he's been in love with Val since they were freshmen. The intervening years of listening to Val's gossip about his lovers and relationships have taught Adrian just what it was he did wrong all those years ago, and he thinks this time around he now knows exactly how to get—and keep—his man.

Excerpt:

Impatiently, Val flipped his powder-blue locks over his shoulder, tapping the little whisk broom against the counter where his supplies were arranged neatly. "Derek, you left me standing around at Paul's for an hour, a place I totally hate by the way, without even a phone call to say you weren't coming, and then I walk past you playing ball in the park with your friends on the way back here. I'm not overreacting!"

He ran a swift eye over his supplies. Scissors, combs, spray bottle with water, gel, mousse. Everything in order. While he prepared his workstation, he listened with half an ear to the deep voice on the other end of the phone, trying to explain or rationalize or whatever, but he wasn't into hearing what Derek had to say. The guy was an immature jerk who put his own wants ahead of everything, even if it meant leaving Val standing in a group of young college kids he barely knew, in a bar he usually avoided like the plague. He'd gone to the party in the first place for Derek. Being stood up while doing something so selfless pissed him off. Just once in a relationship, Val wanted to find a guy who put him first, who loved him more than sports, friends, and all the other temptations the wicked world offered. "Just forget it, Derek. You don't get it. It's not just last night; it's the whole last few months."

More rumbling and babbling in his ear. He ran a dust cloth over the client's chair and then adjusted its height. Prepping his station at the salon was second nature and required little of his attention. Kind of like listening to Derek. Why the fuck do I listen to this shit? Derek had all the emotional understanding of a two-ton truck. Cute as hell, but clueless about what would melt Val's heart. In fact, Derek might accurately be called dense altogether. A little consideration, a romantic gesture or two, would go a long way. Hell, an apology instead of an excuse would probably have gotten him a second chance even this morning. Eh. Who are you kidding? Derek is a symptom, not the illness itself. "Fuck off, Derek. It's over. Do me a favor and lose my number, okay?"

Flipping the phone shut, he shoved it into the pocket of his smock and busied himself cleaning up his workspace. A quick spray of glass cleaner to the mirror, a swipe or two with a rag, and he was done. Done with Derek, done with men, done with romance and love and sex, and fuck it all. He could be celibate. Masturbation didn't count as sex, did it? He'd need something if he wasn't getting any.
