Lost Glasses, Universal Mysteries, Rocking On #writestuff #caffeinateme

Good morning friends! *sips coffee* That's as far as I got this morning. It is now 6pm and I am finally back to working on the blog post for the day.

On the plus side? It's a much nicer, more mellow day than in recent weeks. Nice cool breeze, only about 85, and yeah. Mellow.

I'm still soaking in the atmosphere of that new Mudcrutch album. Loving it, I tell you. Tom Petty and company are the best.

Among othe rthings, I spent half an hour looking for my glasses this morning. Totally not my fault, either because as it turned out, the cat had borrowed them during the night.

Then this happened.

Incredible. We have the ability to locate a single molecule in the depths of the galaxy, and yet I cannot find my shoes ten minutes after taking them off. #mysteriesoftheuniverse

All sorts of fabulous archeological stories, too. Tons of inspiration for my Ocean Archeologist story- wonder where I put that WIP? Tiem to drag it to the for and get some work done on it.

Not tonight though.

Tonight... I write the prompt. That's right. Story Orgy prompt time is here again. Look for a snippet of m/m romance next Monday to go with the prompt "Every morning..."

Happiness, Siesta, Mudcrutch! #caffeinateme #writestuff

Good morning! *sips coffee* It continues to be unrelentingly hot out, and I have come to understand the concept of a siesta as never before. The heat saps your energy like nothing else. Therefore, I've been trying to work early in the morning. My plans today were foiled by an internet outage. Isn't that the way things go? As a result of the outage, I wound up losing consciousness instead of working, and I don't think it counts as a siesta if you fall asleep before 9 and wake up before noon.

So I'm totally stoked today because I just discovered that Tom Petty has a new album out. Mudcrutch 2 released on May 20th and I am jubilant. I can be that, right? I know it's usually used for things like British Queen's extravaganza's - does anyone else remember the jubilee? But anyway... New Tom Petty music is a reason to celebrate at our house. Break out the crystal, buy a new bottle of honey jack and climb up on the roof. Crank the sound up loud and watch the stars for a few hours.

Not that I'm waiting for darkness to fall to listen to this baby. No way.

In fact... I'm going to have to cut this post short so I can just kind of dive into the music. Y'all understand I'm sure. See you later!

#deal #kindlefire #amazon

Just a quick note folks- logged on to Amazon to buy that Mudcrutch album, and what did I spy but this steal of a deal from Amazon?

For a limited time, and it didn't say how long, you can buy a 7 inch Kindle Fire or $39. If everyone in my family didn't already have one, I'd have been stocking up.

No really.

I've been a happy Fire owner since the very first one came out. I considered it well worth the price I paid back then, but this...

I doubt you could find another tablet that is comparable for such a low price.

(That's just a product link- not an affiliate link. I never did get into that program lol)

I'm Melting, Oops, Free from ARE, #amwriting #caffeinateme #writestuff

Good morning everyone! *sips coffee* I hate to sound like a broken record, but man! It's freaking hot already! Think cool thoughts... just think cool thoughts and all will be well.

Another day of temperatures in the 90's. My zucchini is loving it, at least. The tomatoes are thriving also, just the peppers appear to be ready to give up. Today is designated as a work day, but I think I'm going to stick to indoor work.

Speaking of work, I had a big oops. I have a few books that are supposed to be marked free at All Romance, and they apparently went back to 99¢. My mistake. I fixed the issue, and once again, you can get Cold Snap, Chances Are, The Aristocrat and His Servant, and Centurion free at All Romance, in addition to the super shorts, The Captain's Cabin and Nothing to Forgive.

While I was over there I couldn't help noticing a few more fabulous free reads, and I may have picked up a few to peruse in between work stints.

In case you're wondering, I got

  • My Gay Geek Crush - New to me author, but I LOVE the best friends to lovers story line.
  • Shirt - Ok, it's Amy Lane, and a Ryan and Scotty story. Picking this one up was a no-brainer.
  • Harlan's Ryde - I've read this one before, of course. It's written by my very best friend Havan Fellows and is a complete riot. Re-reading it is top on my list.
Unfortunately, I can't read anything until I get some words on the page, so I'd best get myself off to the WIP.

Y'all have a great day and stay cool :)

Margaritas For the 4th of July #celebrate #tequila #usa

Good morning friends and readers! *sips coffee*  It continues to be hot as all get out here, but that just means its perfect weather for planning our 4th of July bash.

Perhaps bash is a little overly er... I might be exaggerating just a wee bit. The truth is, it's just family. About a dozen people altogether.

We're picking up fireworks and plotting out what to throw on the grill, and of course, nothing says summer like a sweet, tangy margarita. I've got the Pinterest open in another browser tab and I'm trying to narrow down from hundreds of possibilities to about five that I can make up and taste test over the next few weeks. Have to choose just one. I'm going for flavor, but also want something with a celebratory appearance.

So far, it's looking like these are my best options:

Blueberry Margarita I happen to have a ton of frozen blueberries on hand already because they have been on sale here a lot, and I use them in a lot of baking. So this would be handy.

Blood Orange I love the color. I'm just not sure my local grocers can come through on the blood oranges. Am I prepared to drive an hour in search of blood oranges? Maybe.

Blue Margarita Only four ingredients. That means quick and easy to prepare. And a very pretty blue
in color.

Strawberry Mango  Look at the color on that one! It's amazingly red :) Plus, this one has the added benefit that I'm a huge fan of mango. Love it.

Then there's this...

Tequila Lime Crush It's not very patriotic in appearance, but it does look pretty intense and flavorful. Crushed pineapple? What says summer better?

Anyway, I'm hoping to narrow down my selection to just one by the 4th. Maybe two. Two margaritas isn't too many is it? I suppose I should have a pitcher of something else on hand for anyone who doesn't like tequila. SMH Philistines.

Right then. Off to make up the shopping list and put words on the page. You all have a great day.

His Grandma always said he'd come to no
 good. Chances Are, she's right

HOT, Garden, Writing #mmromance #cool #amwriting

Good morning friends and readers! *sips coffee* . Summer hasn't quite arrived, but it's making it's intent known with a vengeance. The temperatures here have been in the high 80's low 90's for a few days, and my AC unit is letting me know it doesn't appreciate the extra work! Makes you wonder how our ancestors survived without AC, doesn't it?
Despite my overly dramatic concerns, I'm not going to melt, so I am attempting to make the best of this situation. The best of it appears to be that my garden is loving the heat. We built container gardens as an experiment this year- 6 4 foot square boxes- so its a tiny garden, but no weeding- which my knees appreciate- and not a lot of room. If they continue to do well, we'll double the number of boxes next year. I have tomatoes- several already fruiting-, zucchini, and three different types of peppers. The tomatoes alone will save me a fortune at the grocery store. If we get a good crop I'll be canning like mad in a few weeks. I have plans for spaghetti sauce, tomato soup, salsa... And diced tomato blends. Last time we grew tomatoes I made a bell pepper, tomato, onion blend with Italian spices and olive oil that was fabulous in pasta dishes.
Anyone out there put up their own tomatoes? I enjoy canning as it reminds me of my childhood, but also, food tastes so much fresher! We'll be eating plenty of tomatoes right off the vine, too. Nothing beats that flavor.
Update to writing work: It's been a while. I've been experiencing a serious case of writer's block, exacerbated by the fact that I had a B-12 deficiency. That created a great deal of confusion, exhaustion, and was scary as heck. Have been on supplements for a month now and things are looking up. My symptoms are reduced, and I actually have energy and ideas. So, yes. I'm working again. :) My current projects are Parkerburg #4 with Havan Fellows, and the seventh book in my ongoing series A Rake in London. We're about half done with the Parkerburg book, and I'm about 1/3 into the Rake story. This one is a tricky one, trying to balance Gavin's uh...earthy desires with his growing awareness that he really only loves Marcus. Hope to have that done the end of this month. Oh... and the fourth Truth or Dare book is due for re-release at the end of the month, too.

Those are my goals, at any rate.  Meanwhile, remember I have a couple of short stories available as free reads at All Romance and Smashwords. These were both previously published stories, and I really wanted to get them back out to readers as freebies in appreciation of all the support that you've given me over the years. The response has been overwhelming! Thank you so much to all of the readers who have already downloaded Nothing to Forgive and The Captain's Cabin. Both have earned Silver Best Seller Stars at All Romance ebooks.

Nothing to Forgive  is a best seller in three categories: Drama, Contemporary and Gay, and The Captain's Cabin also earned Silver Stars for Gay Erotica and Historical Erotica.
If you haven't already picked up a copy, get yours today.
Thank you again!
