A Worthy Model
"That's who I
want to be."
I stared at him
blankly. At the photo, then back at Kyle. "Dude, that's a girl."
He nodded. "She's beautiful."
"Well,
yeah. Aesthetically speaking. But, you
can't be her...you're a guy."
"Am I?"
He bit his lip, stared off to the left.
"I'm not so sure."
Everything went
black. "But, I love you." It
was all I could think of. If the gay man I loved was a girl, what did that make
me? Straight? Unnecessary? Bi?
"And I love
you."
Color rushed back
into my world. "All right then.
Let's make it happen."

Very sexy!!
ReplyDeleteI love it!! you are a master!! I was very curious to see how you will interpret this pic, and I'm not disapointed!!
ReplyDeleteOh the quandaries of those who don't fit into defined roles. Too bad people thrive on sticking people into categories that are black and white. Very good and thoughtful piece that says so much in so few words.
ReplyDeleteLee, this was a very thought provoking piece. Is he/she a he/she? If so how does it affect his/her world? Or does it even really matter? Will love prevail? Moving, palpable and a really different perspective. Loved it:) xo
ReplyDeleteThis was very thought provoking Lee.
ReplyDeleteGreat FFF post
Aw. That was rather sweet. :)
ReplyDeleteLove how you took a simple picture and weaved an intriguing story into it in so few words. You're a master!
ReplyDeleteThis was great...it is so awesome to see someone else's take on the picture. I love how you made it fit into your genre.
ReplyDeleteI can just "feel" the one partner's confusion but than his total love and acceptance.
Lee, as I commented on Patricia Logan's blog, I am continually impressed with how each of the M/M writers in our FFF group manage to stay true to their genre. Your post today is a great example of creativity and finding a way to tell the story you want to tell. You own the picture - it doesn't own you. Fabulous.
ReplyDeleteOh wow. Poor guy. I hope he gets what he wants. Great FFF!
ReplyDeleteLove this angle on the photo. Hope they make it happen. I could see this become a story in a heartbeat. You should consider that.
ReplyDeleteOh really nice! Love the puzzling mind!
ReplyDeleteLove is beautiful. Love doesn't judge. Love doesn't care if you're a chick trapped in a dude's body. Such a sweet post.
ReplyDeleteGREAT JOB!!!
Beautiful post! I love it how you painted this with words into a m/m love affair. It’s so intriguing. Loved it.
ReplyDeleteWonderful post. Beautifully understated :)
ReplyDeleteLove the dynamics here. Great job!
ReplyDeleteI already told you, Lee, that this hit me good and hard...it is a testament to your beautiful soul. Thanks for this FFF! <3
ReplyDeleteWhat a loving partner, accepting and supportive. We shoud all be so lucky. I'm intrigued and want to know more, too! :)
ReplyDeleteThat was wonderful Lee. I really enjoyed and I love how you always seem to come up with the best snippets for these photos. Awesome!
ReplyDeleteAcceptance -- I love it!!
ReplyDeleteNice interpretation in just 100 words of a very real issue. great FFF
ReplyDeleteGreat FFF. I'm sure that is a confusing decision for any one in that situation.
