S.L. Armstrong, K. Piet,
And a Good Book
1. *crawls across bed* Important things first, are these sheets silk or cotton?
[S.L.] Cotton. Silk is too hot! Cotton, though, is breathable and soft and just perfect for a snuggle.
[K.] Cotton is also convenient if we plan to make a bit of a mess, too, if you know what I mean.
*blinks* Ohhh... I"m all for cotton! What are you wearing?
[S.L.] Boxer shorts and an oversized shirt. I like to be comfortable.
[K.] Boy briefs and a tank top. I might have stolen your shirt or sweater if I’ve gotten chilly, though, even if it’s three sizes too big.
*chuckles* Help yourself! What are we snacking on in bed while we read tonight?
[S.L.] Buttered popcorn and a bottle of water. I’m all for popcorn. Great all-time snack food.
[K.] There will always be some chocolate within reach. Be a sweety and feed me one of those Lindor truffles? ^_-
*opens box of chocolates* If I open this nightstand drawer, what will I find?
[S.L.] Lots of medicine bottles, nail files, nail clippers, and my favorite toy. ;)
[K.] Clean socks, a couple books, and my small but effective toy collection.
*blushes* Nosy, aren't I? Do you roll up in the blankets like a burrito, or kick the covers off during the night?
[S.L.] Kick them off. Usually, I start out all nice and toasty, rolled up tight, but by the time I wake up, those covers are practically on the floor.
[K.] Roll up, though typically not so tightly that I steal the covers completely.
We'll need extra blankets then! Cause I like to roll up as well. Can I put my cold feet on your calves to warm them up?
[S.L.] My feet tend to be the coldest! Turnabout is fair play. I’ll warm yours if you warm mine. :D
[K.] If you’re prepared to hear me shout and curse a bit while making cute faces, then go ahead and take advantage of my heat. If you decide to team up on me with S.L., though, I swear I’ll find a way to get even!
*Grins* The thought never occurred to me. *nudges S.L. lightly* What are we reading?
[S.L.] I’d be all for snuggling down and reading Catalyst. It’s still my favorite book, and despite its darker themes, I think it’s an awesome love story.
[K.] And this is why you’d be crawling into bed with the both of us, since Catalyst would be my first pick as well. If the BDSM of Catalyst is a little too much for you, though, we can switch to Other Side of Night: Bastian & Riley. Who doesn’t love college boy romance with a healthy helping of vampires? :D
Those both sound awesome, to tell you the truth. I'm a sucker for a happy ending.
Excerpt from Catalyst by S.L. Armstrong & K. Piet:
Logan grabbed Kasper's hand and pulled him off the bar stool and across the short distance to the closet. Kasper's heart began to race, and he was sure Logan could feel his pulse pounding his hand. He swallowed against the sudden dryness of his throat. "What we've done so... so far..."
"It's just the tip of the iceberg, Kasper," Logan grinned, opening the door of his walk-in closet and turning on the light.
Stepping into the closet, Kasper's heart fluttered at what was presented to him. Whips, canes, cuffs, manacles, all manner of phalluses, and some things he couldn't remotely recognize. His voice was breathy when he managed, "I can see why you're still stuck in a shoebox apartment."
Logan smirked, and Kasper could feel those eyes on him as he took a step inside the trove of erotic devices. "Have to find a neighborhood where no one cares if they hear a few screams through the walls."
Kasper let out a shaky breath. "You planning on making me scream tonight?"
"Yeah, I am," Logan whispered into his ear, standing so close behind him that he could feel the man's body heat. "And I know what I'll do now, just based on what's drawn your attention in here."
A shiver ran the length of Kasper's spine, and his cock hardened beneath the fabric of his slacks. "Oh? And what's drawn my attention?"
"The floggers and the plugs, for starters," Logan chuckled. "Especially the larger plugs. It's a bit early to use the cock jewelry, but you're curious, and I like that. We'll get to sounds and the cane before you know it."
Kasper thought he'd simply come in his slacks then and there, his eyes falling to one of the plugs sitting atop a dresser in the closet. Wide and somewhat longer than the other, pitch black and shiny, it made his ass literally twitch. He moaned softly, closing his eyes as he felt too hot in his clothing, but the image of the plug was burned into his mind.
Logan's body finally pressed against his, and he felt the man's hands follow the waistline of his slacks to the front. His belt was slowly unbuckled and removed, and he let out a shuddering breath. Logan didn't have to say a word to get him out of the closet. Instead, he was pulled into the main room by his own belt. He turned around in the circle of the belt and Logan's arms, and the lust-darkened eyes that stared through him froze him in place.
"Your safewords are simple: banana to slow, apple to stop completely. Now strip and get on the bed."
Kasper swallowed thickly, his head feeling light. He'd thought there would be more to it. A dipping of his toes into the waters, but Logan just shoved him in. It was as intoxicating as it was terrifying. He stepped away from Logan, but the dark eyes followed his every move. Kasper was not ashamed of his body, and it wasn't like Logan hadn't had his chance to use it thoroughly already, so he quickly undressed. He folded each article of clothing and set it aside, and when he was naked, he climbed atop the bed.
Among the mussed sheets, he knelt, turning his eyes expectantly to Logan. His cock bobbed wetly, his cheeks and chest flushed with anticipation and need. God help him, he wanted this, whatever it was.
"Fuck, you're hot, kneeling there, waiting for me to fill you, to hurt you, to make you scream for me." Logan continued to stare as he stripped off his shirt and jeans and tossed them to the laundry basket in the corner. He kept his underwear on, but the thin layer of cotton did nothing to hide just how aroused Logan was already.
Kasper found himself looking away from Logan, a slight sense of shame filling him. Yes, he did want Logan to hurt him. He wanted to scream for the man, writhe in agony as he came. It was still too new, too strange for him to fully comprehend yet. His cock twitched with his heartbeat, a bead of fluid gathering in the tip. "I... don't know what to do," he admitted.
"That hasn't stopped you before," Logan pointed out, stepping up to the edge of the bed. He took Kasper's chin in his hand with a wicked smile. "Just do what I tell you. Always answer my questions. Don't worry about staying silent. Enjoy what I do to you, and if you want me to stop, you know your safewords." With that, Logan pulled him into a deep kiss.
It wasn't like their other kisses. The others had always had an edge of command to them, but Kasper had felt free to refuse. This time, he felt refusal was absolutely unacceptable. Not that he'd refused Logan before, and he had the sure, sinking sensation he'd not refuse him in the future, either. For better or worse, he had been captured by Logan, and there was no escaping for him now.

Excerpt from Other Side of Night: Bastian & Riley by S.L. Armstrong & K. Piet:
"You look like a man in need of a serious vacation."
Bastian looked up, his heart beating quickly as he took in the sight of Riley. Riley, tall and beautiful and there. Late, but there, a rueful smile curving his luscious mouth. "Like I said, it's been a long month," he choked out.
"Has it?" Riley sat down, tucking his book bag under his chair. "I wouldn't know. You didn't call."
"I'm sorry." Bastian had drunk a good amount of the cow's blood from his fridge before heading out, and he was only sort of surprised to feel his cheeks heat slightly with a flush. It had been too long since he'd last felt himself blush. "I really am. I wanted to call, but shit came up and I... didn't know how to explain the changes in my life to you."
"Changes? Did you knock a girl up? Decide you weren't gay? Get married?" Riley ordered his tea latte, and then turned sharp, bright eyes on him. "Come on, Bastian, what was it? Food poisoning? Cut off a finger? Lose your scholarship?"
Bastian shook his head. "Okay, maybe not as dire as anything like that, but..."
How was he supposed to explain this? Should he explain it? They hadn't even gone out on their first date! Before he announced he was pretty sure he was a vampire, they should have at least managed three dates, right? Bastian sighed. "I just got really hung up on some of my classes while coming down with something. If I wasn't studying, I was in bed. I'm sorry I canceled last minute on you. Do you think we could try again?"
Riley eyed him, sipping his tea. "You going to be sick Sunday night?"
Bastian felt a hesitant smile tug at the corners of his lips. "No."
"You want to try that dinner and a movie thing again?"
"Yes." Bastian tried to be cool about, not seem too eager, but Riley's soft laugh told him he'd failed. "Yes, I want to try it again. I really, really want to."
Riley smiled, that bright and beautiful expression that lit up his face. "Good, 'cause I want to, too." The smile faded a little. "Don't do that again. Call me back. I was worried as hell."
Bastian shifted his chair over and laced his fingers with Riley's. It was natural, easy and comfortable. His smile was more reserved, hiding his new teeth as much as he could. "I can't say it enough. I'm sorry. It was thoughtless–"
Riley pressed a finger to Bastian's lips. "Yes." He leaned in, his eyes darting to Bastian's lips for a moment before his finger slid away, over his chin and down his throat. "As much as I'd like hear you beg for forgiveness the rest of the evening, I think you've done enough. You screwed up. Don't do it again, 'kay?"
Bastian nodded, and he knew what they were going to do. He knew he shouldn't, he knew he should wait, but Riley was there, so close, and he smelled so damn good. Bastian leaned a little closer and murmured, "I want to kiss you."
"You want to?" Riley's eyes sparkled. "Wanting is such an unpleasant state to be in."
Bastian couldn't help the laugh that filled his throat. "It is. I think it's time to remedy it."
