Where Were You?

Sept. 11, 2001

I was in a classroom.

Teaching kids to think instead of accept.

Teaching kids to lead instead of follow.

Teaching kids to understand instead of judge.

Sept. 11, 2011

It's been ten years.

America is still brought to tears.

  2. I was on a job site in McKinney, TX helping build a convention center. The entire site shut down as hundreds of workers stood in shock, listening to minute-by-minute updates on a transistor radio as the twin towers collapsed. Till this day, I can't hold back my tears.

  3. I was at work in Austin, Tx. We were watching the national new curious to what was going on as the second plane hit. So much shock, so many tears. That day seemed to last forever. To this day talking or even thinking about it still makes me cry.

Be Yourself

To be nobody but yourself in a world which is doing its best, night and day, to make you everybody else means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight; and never stop fighting. ~e.e. cummings, 1955
