Flash Fiction Friday- The Break Up

The Break Up

"You're coming for coffee." Ava insisted.

"No, I’m not." I scowled.

"Javier broke up with you.  You're devastated.  We should talk." She insisted, putting her hands on her hips, ruining the line of my shot.

"You keep talking and ruining every damn shot." I fired back. My private agony wasn't fodder for her gossip mill.

"See? You're over emotional."

"Ava, Javier didn't mean fuck.  We fucked, but that's all. Any pretty boy will do just as well."  I was the idiot who fell in love.

"You're an ass.  You didn't deserve him. He was such a sweet boy."

"Smile, bitch."

  3. Super tension in a short space, Lee. As usual you told a big story in a few words. Well done!

  4. Great story honey. What a bitch!

  5. Hmmm...I'm not so sure I got as much bitch vibe as everyone else. I pegged her as the best friend who was pushing her buddy's buttons because she could see he was hurting and thought he would feel better if he talked it out.
He was lying about his feelings after all...

  6. I'm gonna have to agree with Laura. That's what I took away from it too. Except in her last line, made me wonder who she was friends with. Both of them? Hm. Good one Lee.

  7. She's just a friend looking out for him and sees through his broody facade. He fell in love, it happens. Man up dude! Great one, Lee! :)

  8. Maybe he's secretly gay and doesn't want another woman. She should really drill him. Sorry, but to me he sounded gay. great post.

  9. You and your words...not sure which one I'm addicted to more *hugs* And yeah - she is being too nosy and he is too deep in denial and Javier - well did Javier feel like he was 'any pretty boy'? Love it and you honey! <3

  10. LOL! The exchange between the two was so entertaining. She tried to get him to admit his feelings, but he was content on keeping them in. Your true friends always know when you’re hurting whether you’re putting on a front or not. Excellent post Lee!

  11. Poor guy. He needs to grab Javier by his....*slap* sorry. What I meant to say is, he needs to grab Javier and tell him how much he wasn't just a fuck. Yeah, that's what I meant.

    GREAT JOB!

  12. Yep, she deserved to bitch-slapped for that line at the line - "You didn't deserve him." Well, she is certainly a woman who doesn't hold her tongue. I liked it - a lot.

  13. She's a bitch and though the photog may be hurting, he wasn't going to admit it to anyone. I like the way he put her in her place and I could feel the friendship between them. He's a fantastic gay friend to have, the kind every girl needs and she's the perfect bitch for him, someone to provoke him just enough that he wants a "throwdown". Excellent as always, Sir Lee

  14. That's the problem with humanity. Our egos get in the way of what we really desire. Pride keeps us lonely.

  17. Oh we all fall in love with the wrong guy at least once. He and Ava seem to have one of those fabulous no holds barred friendships. Fantastic post!

  18. I love it! Maybe they have to rag on each other each week just to get some emotion out of the model...some photographers hate to talk, but some models hate to listen to directions! Poor man!
